Polyurethane Sealants

« Back to Glossary Index

Polyurethane sealants, also known as PU or PUR, are a type of adhesive sealant that is made from a range of chemicals that share related chemistry and results. Most of these chemicals are “thermosetting polymers” meaning that they do not melt when exposed to heat. Polyurethane sealants work on almost all surfaces including wood, metal, rubber, tile, concrete, glass, and brick. This makes them ideal for applications such as woodworking, automotive, general industrial work, and much more.
